The Ultimate Control Measure – The Future of Fire Fighting!
The fact is we are getting less fires-that is good news. The bad news is, the fires we do get can be more complex and dangerous. This is due to a vast number of variables ranging from modern building construction to speed of the initial firefighting attack.
Our R & D team are always looking for ‘out of the box’ idea’s to make dealing with fire a less hazardous occupation. We think we have found the answer.
We have secured dealership rights for the DSPA-5 and Fire Knock Out fire intervention tools.
These tools are new for the U.K but have been tried and tested around the world including Europe, Canada and the U.S.A for some years.
DSPA units successfully deployed are replaced free by some insurance companies in parts of Canada and the U.S.A.
A leading Dutch insurance company issues Fire Knock Out units free to its customers, much the same way as we issue and fit smoke detectors in this country.
Apart from professional fire fighting, this technology has a huge application area, from fixed installations, commercial, Military, Police, Counter Terrorism, Civil Defence, Marine, Aviation, construction industry and domestic use. The list is really endless.
We call them the ultimate control measure, saving time, property, resources, the environment, money and possibly lives!
They carry 5 year warranties with a life expectancy of 15 years plus with very little maintenance.
We would like to see every front line fire appliance in the U.K fitted with at least one DSPA-5 and a Fire Knock Out unit.
Transitional Fire can provide bespoke packages to equip fire and rescue services with this technology including training, back up and training stock.
Put Time on Your Side
In many fire response situations, the first attendance find themselves on scene but unable to attack the fire. Water may be unavailable, there is a delay waiting for extra resources. An example would be a high-rise incident. Even with highly trained crews the time line may well exceed 20 minutes plus before any effective firefighting can be carried out.
Depending on the progress of the fire, deploying fire interruption technology at an early stage can buy crews precious time. In the life cycle of a fire, as little as five minutes can make the difference between having a home to save and losing the home completely. All this adds up to creating safer conditions for our firefighters.
Make an Interior Attack Safer
Properly deployed, the DSPA-5 interrupts flame and lowers temperature rapidly, making an interior attack safer. In a recent deployment in Canada crews were preparing for a dangerous attack on a basement fire when such a device was deployed. Crews entering the basement minutes later found this fully involved fire had been completely knocked down.
Save Money
By dealing with fire in its early stage, fewer resources are needed. Water damage is minimal; there will be less damage to the property, less crews are needed clearing out, turning over, dealing with salvage. The list goes on.
Help the Environment
The DSPA and Fire Knock Out are both environmental friendly. Fast extinguishment with little or no water means less water used, less polluted runoff and less carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases entering the air. There is no need for environmentally damaging foam to be used including an expensive clear up operation post incident.
